The Mini Version of my Ring is Officially Done
Today’s piece is extra close to my heart because it’s a custom ring inspired by my very own engagement ring.
Yes, she saw it, she loved it, and she said, “Bonnie, I need one just like it... but a little smaller.” And honestly? That’s what I live for. That’s what diamonds are all about. How We Landed on the Perfect Size
My sweet client already had a gorgeous 3-carat diamond ring, but she was ready for something bolder.
She told me, “Bonnie, I love how dramatic yours is, but I need something that still fits my lifestyle.” So we played with sizes—5 carats? Not quite right. And then we landed on the perfect sweet spot: 7 carats. Now, when I say proportions matter, I mean it. We had a full-on design conversation. She loved my double-gallery setting and high-profile look, but she also wanted a ring she could wear daily. So I suggested we go with a ¾ eternity band (so she could resize it if needed) and scale down the shank just a bit. My band is 3.8mm, but after trying different widths—3mm, 3.2mm, 3.5mm—we both fell in love with the 3.2mm option.
Just the right balance of bold and wearable. And yes, for all my minimalists out there, this is not the post for you.
