oval cut and round cut bezel ring

Hello there and welcome to another By Bonnie blog, where we talk about all things diamonds! If you know me already or have followed me for a while, you know that I’m all about BIG and HUGE diamonds - really the BIGGER the BETTER. But today we’ll be focusing on smaller diamonds, something a bit more on the quiet side.

Perhaps you’re a really busy mom and you just want something that's low maintenance or you are minimalistic and you just want “quiet luxury”. Well, today I have the solution for that. If you read this blog all the way through (or watch the video) I’ll be showing you different “quiet luxury” styles that will check all the checkboxes for someone who’s busy and is looking for something low maintenance.

Today I'll be featuring two bezel rings that literally don’t snag on clothes and are just so buttery smooth all over. When I look at it, I just absolutely love it. And bonus tip, if you have a larger knuckle and you've always struggled to find a ring that actually once it gets to the bottom and doesn't cost much. We'll also address when you're shopping for an engagement ring.

3.2ct Oval Cut Diamond Bezel Ring

Let's get started right away, because I just can't wait to show you guys

This here is the platinum version of a gorgeous, thin bezel ring that we did on a tulip design. This specific ring is a 3.2 carat E Color VS1. Personally I love this ring so much! When my client told me about her larger knuckles and how she’s always busy using her hands, I just knew that she needed a ring that would go with her lifestyle. So that’s where these beads on the ring fit in.

I actually can't feel it to be honest. It's not like it's painful or anything. But, why have them? Well, what happens is that people that have a larger knuckle, maybe a size 5 on their knuckle but a size 4.5 or even 4 on the base of their finger, the ring will always be a bit loose. You’ll see that it will always turn one way or another and the diamond will be facing different ways.

So if you take a look at the picture above, you actually can see that those beads on the ring are actually pinching a little bit of the skin. What it does is that it will help keep the ring in place and not have it moving around. So if you have really busy hands, this is a really good option for somebody because you literally don't feel any prongs and it's super smooth.

The only thing I have to say, if you go with this gorgeous bezel design and have it super thin, basically have it look like the diamond is just floating on your finger, make sure that the band itself, it's not super thin.

2.5ct Round Cut Diamond Bezel Set Engagement Ring

Now, let's take a look at the round version of the same bezel ring. This one's in a captivating yellow gold, featuring a 2.5 crown that you can compare to the earlier oval ring.

I'm excited to share this one because we went for an ultra-thin bezel – this is what earned me the title of Bezel Queen. It requires top-notch craftsmanship, and as you can see, it sits gracefully low on the finger. It's perfect for someone who's a busy mom or simply prefers a sleek look without an overly thick bezel that hides the diamond's beauty.

Here's the extra special touch: we incorporated platinum on the underside of the ring. So while the top is all gold, the leaves are platinum. This design choice has a clever impact on how the stone shines. Light interacts with the platinum to enhance the diamond's appearance, making it seem a tad wider and perfectly controlling its color play.

Choosing between yellow gold and platinum is all about personal preference – some love the whole ring in yellow gold, and that's perfectly fine. But this combination adds a unique flair and visual depth to the ring. And yes, I'll also show you how stunning it looks when paired with wedding bands.

Pairing Tips for Oval and Round Cut Diamond

Let's move on with what you all love most - pairing engagement rings with wedding bands! We’ll start with pairing options for the oval bezel ring. This one works beautifully with a plain band or a delicate pavé band. However, due to the positioning of the leaves, a super low-profile companion is ideal.

Enter the brand-new ultra low-profile emerald-cut band that I'm absolutely smitten with.

Placing this band beside the Oval bezel ring creates an almost flush fit to the finger. The side profile showcases their seamless harmony. When worn together, the set exudes a sense of quiet luxury – it's an understated elegance that's hard to overlook. The tactile experience is remarkable – no prongs interrupting the smooth surface, just a perfect fit. Now, for the round bezel ring, I've chosen to pair it with our equally low-profile band.

This band was crafted to complement our low-profile designs, ensuring a flush and captivating look. Together, they strike a balance that lets the stone shine without overpowering it. What's even better is that this band holds its own solo charm – it remains substantial even when worn alone, avoiding the delicate look that thin bands can sometimes impart. For those who, like me, adore a bold presence, this combination ticks all the boxes. The band is 2.2mm wide and features our unique tulip bezel, adding an extra touch of elegance to the mix.
