Hi, Vogue! I wish! Welcome back to another By Bonnie blog, where we dive into everything diamonds! Today’s a bit of a switch-up as we’re doing a fun Q&A. I’m excited but also a little nervous—let’s dive in!
What’s your favorite diamond shape? Oh, that's a tough one! If I had to choose, I’d say round and emerald cuts.
Both have their own timeless charm!
If you could choose just one piece of jewelry to wear for the rest of your life, what would it be? Oh, that’s a toughie. If I have to pick just one, it would definitely be the biggest emerald cut I could handle.
I want a piece so stunning that I can’t even see my knuckle!
Do you sleep with your ring on? Absolutely not! And if you do, it’s time to rethink that habit. Rings and sleep don’t mix well, trust me.
How many carats is your ring? This ring?
It’s five carats. But I’m working on something even bigger—stay tuned!
What’s been the most challenging piece you’ve ever made? Ah, the most challenging piece… That’s a tough one. Every ring has its own complexities, but one of the most intricate projects was creating a ring inspired by the Golden Gate Bridge.
Living close to San Francisco, this was a special project. The level of detail required, with all the tiny drill bits to capture each fold, made it one of the most challenging yet rewarding pieces I’ve ever worked on.
Platinum or yellow gold? Oh, that’s a tough one because I love both! I wear platinum and yellow gold every day, but if I had to choose, I’d go with platinum. I’m all about diamonds, and platinum really lets them shine!
If you had to choose between your blue sapphire earrings and your green emerald earrings, which would it be? Green all the way!
I adore green—it just makes me so happy. I’m a bit obsessed with green; it’s everywhere from my pearls to my shoes. So, green it is!
What’s your favorite ring setting? Oh, that’s a tricky one. It really depends on the stone and its style.
Personally, I love either a bold solitaire or a three-stone setting. Both showcase the diamond beautifully, allowing for a bold yet elegant look without too much fuss.
What’s the number one thing to look for when buying an engagement ring? Craftsmanship. It’s crucial.
I see so many people focus solely on the center stone and then pick a setting without considering quality.
A flawless diamond won’t shine its best without top-notch craftsmanship. I’ve transformed even less-than-perfect stones into stunning pieces with the right setting, so never underestimate the importance of good craftsmanship.
Can you give us a quick OOTD (Outfit of the Day)? Oh, sure! Today I’m rocking some Christian Dior shoes and a matching saddle bag.
I picked this up in Vegas—it was one of those impulse buys, but I’m so glad I did. The buckle is a limited edition, two-tone black and gold, which instantly caught my eye. It’s one of my favorites because it pairs well with everything!
