What is an Emerald Cut Diamond Ring?

The elongated shape of the diamond creates a flattering and slimming effect on the finger. This cut is also known for its step-like facets that reflect light in a unique way, creating a dazzling and mesmerizing display of brilliance. Not only is the Emerald Cut Diamond Ring visually stunning, it is also versatile, as it can be worn with a variety of different bands and settings.

Overall, the Emerald Cut Diamond Ring is a perfect choice for someone looking for a piece of jewelry that will stand the test of time and make a statement of classic refinement.

Analyzing the Characteristics of Emerald Cut Diamond Rings

An Emerald Cut Diamond Ring is a classic and elegant choice when it comes to engagement rings. With its simplistic beauty and timeless appeal, it offers a unique look that is both glamorous and sophisticated.

Ring #1: 3.50ct Emerald Cut Diamond Solitaire

Let's begin with the first ring, a stunning solitaire. The client who requested it expressed their admiration for my work and for large diamonds and, if you've been keeping up with my work, you know that I share that same passion for big diamonds! When selecting a large diamond ring for an engagement, I suggest considering beforehand the type of wedding band you want. Do you want a band that matches or complements your ring, or something unique?

For this gorgeous 3.50 emerald cut diamond solitaire ring, we actually chose a 2mm knife-edge band that looks narrower on the hand. And if you have a slender engagement ring, you can consider selecting a wedding band with a more substantial look - and that's precisely what we did with this ring!

4.20ct U Gallery 4.20mm Round Diamond Eternity Band

We created a U Gallery round diamond eternity band, which is a highly sought-after design in our collection. In the case of this particular ring, we increased the carat weight to four carats, measuring approximately 0.28 carats per stone. As a result, you get a ring that appears much larger when worn.

Creating a band that sits flush next to a deep stone like an emerald requires skilled design and engineering. It is challenging to address all the necessary details to achieve a perfect fit. Nevertheless, we were able to design and create the set of our dreams.

Ring #2: 4.50ct Emerald Cut Diamond with Tapered Baguette Side Stones

One of the most popular and timeless styles you can find is the Emerald cut diamond with a tapered baguette. I have created a version of this ring with a three-carat diamond, which was inspired by a ring worn by J.Lo. You can watch the video of the ring here! This ring is larger than the one I previously made, and has a G color grade. It's a very common and classic style that can be found in various brands, including Heritage Brand, Graff Diamond, and Harry Winston.

This ring is extremely hard to make perfectly due to the emerald cut diamonds. It's common to see three stone rings with thick prongs that are less appealing. Craftsmanship is essential for this type of ring because any imperfection will be visible due to the reflection (aka hall of mirrors) of the diamonds.

You will observe that Emerald cut diamonds are forgiving when it comes to color. This is because of their unique cut that does not show the color as much as other shapes like oval or pear shaped diamonds.. Here, you can compare two emerald-cut diamonds - a 4.50 carat (G Color) and a 3.50 carat (I Color). Notice that the diamonds have different ratios - the 4.50 carat diamond has a ratio of 1.46, while the 3.50 carat diamond has a ratio of 1.38. Make sure to check out my other video about Emerald Cut Diamonds where I go into more detail about ratios on this type of diamonds!

5ct Emerald Cut Diamond Eternity Band 4.85mm

We have a band that perfectly matches this ring! The diamonds on the band are approximately 0.25ct each and I specifically created it to complement any ring we offer. Many clients request a low profile diamond wedding band that pairs well with their engagement ring, and this one fits the bill. You can choose a halfway or eternity band and it will still look great.

Even though the band might sit flush with a solitaire ring, it won't fit perfectly with a tapered baguette ring. It's difficult to find a flush band that matches a large carat or three stone ring. As we can see from past celebrity looks, there's always a gap between the ring and the band. So if you want to cover your knuckle, the recommended ring is clear!

When comparing these two sets, if you prefer a more flush appearance, it's best to choose a smaller carat size. However, if you want to stick with an emerald cut, keep in mind that they tend to be deeper, making it difficult to achieve a flush fit with larger carat sizes.

Ring #3: 6.50ct Emerald Cut Diamond with Step Cut Trapezoid Side Stones

This is a three stone ring with step cut trapezoid diamonds in E Color. It's similar to the 4 carat version that I showed in a previous video, which you can watch here. However, this ring is larger, at 6.50 carats with a 1.48 ratio. It's difficult to find stones with this ratio because it requires sacrificing some roughness in the emerald cut.

If you're interested in comparing different emerald cut styles, here's a great comparison between two timeless and elegant designs. Personally, I consider this my dream ring. One advantage of the step cut traps is that they provide more coverage on the finger in terms of width, while the baguette cut provides a bit more contrast.

How to Choose the Perfect Emerald Cut Engagement Ring?

If you're feeling overwhelmed by all the beautiful rings, take a moment to consider your own fingers. The size and shape of your fingers can help determine which type of ring will be the most flattering for you. If you have long fingers, you may want to consider a longer ratio emerald cut diamond. Emerald cut diamonds have a timeless and glamorous appeal similar to Hollywood style. Many famous celebrities, such as Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, Sophia Richie and Paris Hilton have opted for this cut as their engagement ring. And let's just hope Santa adds this to my list of presents this year!
