Welcome back to another By Bonnie blog, where we talk about all things diamonds—and today, we’re diving into earrings! If you’re obsessed with little hoop earrings and want something fabulous for everyday wear, this blog is for you.
Alright ladies, listen up! You’ll want to read every word of this one because I’m about to showcase the most comfortable and chic everyday hoop earrings in different diamond sizes. We’re talking hoops that will elevate your style every single day.
You know those mornings where you wake up, have the perfect outfit, but wonder, “What jewelry should I wear?” Well, after reading this, you’ll have the answer, and it might just change your entire wardrobe game forever! Let’s get into it.
Story time! Let me tell you why I ended up creating these particular sizes and diamond shapes for a client. So, here’s the scoop—my client reached out and wanted to add to her collection with the perfect pair of everyday earrings. First, let me show you the two pairs we’re featuring today. One is a round-shaped hoop, just under an inch. The other is an oval-shaped hoop, ¾ of an inch.
Now, why did we choose these sizes? Why these diamonds? When she first came to me, she sent over some dummy earrings, which I highly recommend! If you’re unsure what size or style to invest in, grab some affordable dummy versions and try them on. It’s a perfect way to get a feel for what works for you.
My client wanted something close to these, but a bit finer—something she could wear every day that would complement her existing jewelry. She already has one of our signature solitaire rings with a band, so this was all about adding to her collection with something elegant and timeless.
And voilà, these custom hoops were born!
Alright, let’s break it down!
On the right we have a round earring with 1 and 3/4 carat diamonds, which gives a bit of a thicker, more substantial look. Now, on the other side, we’ve got an oval shape that’s 3/4 of an inch, featuring smaller diamonds. When it comes to choosing between round versus oval hoops, it really depends on the shape of your face and what vibe you’re going for.
Honestly, trying on different styles with dummy versions can be a total game-changer—it helps you figure out what works best for *you*. We even made a video recently of a larger version we designed for another client, and it’s all about finding your perfect match.
Alright, let’s talk about what makes these earrings super special—the slanted post! Yes, slanted. But why?
A lot of times, when you put on earrings, your ear naturally faces outward, which can make the earring tilt. But with this slanted post, the earring actually faces forward, giving you that picture-perfect look! How amazing is that?
And the same goes for the oval shape. Let me show you the mechanism—this is what we call the "La Pousette backing," which is actually a patented design. You just squeeze it, slip it on, and it locks right in place. No pulling it off unless you’re squeezing the mechanism! It’s perfect for added security and comfort.
Now, take a look at this comparison with the dummy sample so you can see how traditional earrings tend to face outward. This design is a game-changer for anyone whose earlobes face more outward and want their earrings to shine forward instead of to the side. Seriously, I am obsessed—just look at the difference!
Alright, now let me show you the difference up close! Here’s how it looks when it’s rounded, and here’s the oval shape.
We used a French pavé setting on these, and just look at how stunning they are! I know it’s such a small detail, but the way we set these diamonds really makes them look like they’re floating on the earring, with barely any metal showing. It’s like pure sparkle!
Of course, these are slightly larger diamonds, so it’s all about the look you're going for. Do you want something super minimal, skinny, and subtle? Or maybe you're like me and love a bit of extra bling! It’s all about your vibe. So, which shape are you feeling—are you Team Round or Team Oval? Do you like the blingier look or something more understated?
And don’t forget, these can be made in different metals—yellow gold, rose gold, you name it! I hope you enjoyed this blog as much as I loved sharing it with you.
